Frankie joins forces with P&G and Superdrug to help raise £100,000 for Marie Curie with the Feel Super campaign

The Saturdays star and Strictly Come Dancing finalist, Frankie Bridge, has visited the Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead as part of her role as ambassador for P&G and Superdrug’s Feel Super campaign.

Frankie was given the tour by hospice manager Jackie Laidlaw, where she was introduced to patients and families, met nurses and volunteers and saw first-hand the work the hospice does supporting people living with a terminal illness. She also delivered special P&G hampers full of products to all in-patients in the hospice.

As a long-term supporter of Marie Curie, Frankie has spent time at the Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull too, which she helped officially open with her fellow band mates The Saturdays in the presence of Royal Patron, HRH Prince of Wales.

The Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead is one of nine Marie Curie Hospices across the UK offering specialist round-the-clock care to people living with terminal illness. Marie Curie cares for more than 40,000 people a year, through its hospices, 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, helper service and newly launched information and support service.

Speaking of her visit to the Hampstead hospice, Frankie said:

“Spending time in the Marie Curie hospice has been such a humbling experience. The work they do caring for people living with a terminal illness is just fantastic. I’ve met some amazing people here today, and the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. I’ve seen for myself how special Marie Curie nurses are and how important the support and care they provide can be in difficult times.  I hope that everyone will get behind the new campaign and help us make a real difference.”

“It’s wonderful to be able to continue to help Marie Curie through the FeelSuper campaign.  The great thing about it is that it’s so easy to get involved and we’re not asking you to do anything over and above buying your everyday products at Superdrug.  It’s so simple, one product = one donation.

“The money raised will enable Marie Curie to help more people living with a terminal illness and their families, which mean all those little pick- me-ups like buying a new lipstick, or simply stocking up on the family toothpaste start to feel super because they are helping others too.”

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading charity for people living with any terminal illness, and their families.  Its nurses work night and day, providing hands-on care and vital emotional support in their homes, as well as offering specialist round-the-clock care in its hospices.   But the charity wants to do more and reach more people affected by terminal illnesses.   Money raised from this campaign will enable Marie Curie to reach more people living with a terminal illness, enabling them to make the most of the time they have left.

Hospice Manager, Jackie Laidlaw, said:

“There’s been a real buzz around the hospice today with Frankie’s visit and the staff and patients have really enjoyed meeting her. Having the support of Frankie really highlights our work, and I hope that people really get behind the campaign and go and buy their P&G products, like Max Factor, Pampers and Olay in Superdrug.

“We hope that Frankie’s visit today shows how important it is that people living with a terminal illness get the help and support they need, so they can adapt to and cope with the changing circumstances they face.”

The Feel Super campaign was launched on April 8th and aims to raise at least £100,000 for Marie Curie. From the 8th April to the 5th May inclusive, at Superdrug stores nationwide and at Superdrug.com, each time you buy any P&G product including brands like Max Factor, Olay, Gillette and Oral B, you will trigger a donation to Marie Curie.
