Press release published

Teaming up for the first time to help raise money in aid of Marie Curie, the celebrity duo will compete to be named the ‘#FeelSuper Star’

Today, P&G and Superdrug’s#FeelSuper campaign returns with the support of long time ambassador, celebrity mum of two, Frankie Bridge and brand-new ambassador, musician, DJ and TV star Marvin Humes.

The celebrity friends have teamed up to celebrate the launch of #FeelSuper 2018 with a day of fun filled fundraising where they will go head to head in a series of #FeelSuper challenges. The winner will be crowned the #FeelSuper star and together they hope their hard work will inspire shoppers around the country to get involved and help raise as much as possible for the campaign. The ask is simple, for every purchase of donating P&G products at Superdrug or on Superdrug.com from 28th March to 24th April, including Oral B, Olay, Pantene and Gillette, a donation will be triggered to Marie Curie.

With over £500,000 already raised since 2015, Frankie is excited to have Marvin on board to see what fundraising milestones they can smash this year! Since the launch of #FeelSuper, the charity, which provides care and support for people living with a terminal illness, has been able to launch a free and confidential telephone support line, which has now taken over 20,000 calls. With one in four people across the country still not able to receive the support they need at the end of their life1, shoppers can help make a real difference to the lives of those living with terminal illness and their loved ones, through the one product = one donation campaign.

Not only can shoppers do their part by heading to Superdrug, they can also see how Frankie and Marvin get on with their attempts to be crowned the ‘#FeelSuper star’. You can see who is crowned champion by watching the full video here: www.superdrug.com/feelsuper, and keep up to date with the campaign by following #FeelSuper.

Commenting on the launch, Frankie Bridge says: “I’m so excited to have Marvin on board this year helping us to raise even more for the #FeelSuper campaign. We are challenging each other to some really fun #FeelSuper challenges, hopefully inspiring people to also get involved – although we will be doing all the hard work so they don’t have to because it is just so easy, one product = one donation! We are both really competitive so I know we both want to win the title ‘#FeelSuper star’ and I won’t be going easy on him, just because he is new.”

On joining the campaign this year, Marvin says: “Supporting the #FeelSuper campaign was a bit of a no brainer for me. Seeing the amazing work Frankie has done over the last three years was inspiring and I am just so happy I get the chance to do my bit to help. Frankie and I are great friends but when we go head to head in the race to be crowned the #FeelSuper star…well let’s just say, let the best ambassador win!”

Dr Jane Collins, Chief Executive of Marie Curie, says: “The Feel Super campaign is an easy way to help Marie Curie support people living with a terminal illness, by simply purchasing P&G products in Superdrug. With the population getting older, more people need our services than ever before and we know that people who are cared for by a Marie Curie Nurse are much more likely to die in the comfort of their own home, than in hospital. Funds raised from the Feel Super campaign will help Marie Curie continue to provide this vital care and we are excited to see how much we can raise in 2018.”

Annemarie Muir, Customer Team Leader, P&G UK and Ireland, says: “We are so proud to see how far we have come since the #FeelSuper campaign began, and the excitement and enthusiasm for its continued success. Both Frankie and Marvin are wonderful ambassadors and we know shoppers will be inspired by them to get involved and support us in our commitment to raise as much as possible for Marie Curie.”

Simon Comins, Superdrug Commercial Director added: “We are thrilled to have both Frankie and Marvin together for the first time, all for the benefit of this amazing campaign. We are looking forward to seeing all the successes this year will bring and for #FeelSuper to raise as much as possible to add to our total fundraising for Marie Curie.”

From the 28th March to the 24th April you can get involved and #FeelSuper with brands such as Oral B, Olay, Gillette, Pantene and many more, P&G will make a donation to Marie Curie. One product = One donation. Check out the full video of Frankie and Marvin on www.superdrug.com/feelsuper, and follow all the action using #FeelSuper.
