Anyone for Tennis 2010

If you love tennis, then get on court and show your support for terminally ill patients and their families in summer 2010.

Please note that our Anyone for Tennis 2010 tournament is open for registration until the end of September 30, 2010.

The Anyone for tennis event asks all tennis lovers to get out on the court and serve up a great day of fun and fundraising by participating or organising their own event’s.

Your participation in Anyone for Tennis 2010 will help make it possible for our nurses to provide more hours of nursing care in your local area, supporting terminally ill patients and their families.

The event is open to anyone who loves the game, whether a seasoned veteran or simply a fan of the sport and you don’t need to be a member of a tennis club or team to participate.

Decide what sort of event you want to organise – from a social game of doubles with friends in the local park or on your own court through to a mini Wimbledon tournament at your local club

Pick a format – you could make it a mixed doubles challenge; fathers and daughters; mothers and sons; fancy dress; a handicap tournament – the choice is yours

How to net the cash

Charge an entrance fee for spectators to watch your event

Host a quiz or auction

Organise a sports raffle - ask local sports shops to donate sports equipment and clothing or ask local sports teams to donate macth tickets

Hold a few sweepstakes. Which player/s do you think will stage the longest rally? Who has the fastest serve?

Take tennis fashion to the next level and hold a tennis themed fancy dress party

Run a competition to guess the number of tennis balls in a container - the winner takes home a new set of donated tennis balls

Why not hold a 24 hour tennis marathon at your local tennis club

You can always raise money by asking spectators to get sponsored to be a ball boy or girl at your tournament.
