Event date
The Virtual London Marathon takes place on Sunday 3 October 2021, from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59. Only runs that take place on this date will be accepted.
What if I become injured or need to cancel my place?
Please contact our supporter relations team at london.marathon@mariecurie.org.uk or on 0845 052 4184.
When will I receive my official race day information?
All the information you need will be sent to you ahead of the big day! Do keep an eye on the website as this is where you will find the most up-to-date information. You should also download the Virtual London Marathon app, which enables you to log your 26.2 miles, earn your medal and will also bring the experience to life! The app will launch in the summer.
Where do I do my run?
You can run a route of your choice, anywhere on the planet! Please just make sure you're following any government guidelines around social distancing, self-isolating and you're running somewhere safe and well lit. It's also a good idea to make sure a friend or family member knows your route or can track you as you run, for safety.
What will I receive as part of Team Marie Curie?
As part of the team you’ll receive:
- Running Zone with training plans, tips and advice
- Regular e-newsletters with fundraising support and advice to help you smash your target
- A Marie Curie running vest or t-shirt
- On-hand local support from our fundraising team
- You can also request a cheer pack for your friends and family to use on the day to cheer you on
Can I do my run on a treadmill?
No. You must not use a treadmill or any other stationary running machine and/or equipment to take part in the virtual 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon. All participants must complete the 26.2 miles outside.
