Wales Bereavement Information and Support Service

Marie Curie provides bereavement support for anyone in Wales experiencing grief following the death of someone from a terminal illness.

Whether your bereavement was expected, happened recently or was some time ago, we can help. We can also support you before your loved one dies.

Call us free on 0800 090 2309* or book a call below.

How we can help

  • Bereavement counselling: We offer bereavement counselling across Wales with a qualified counsellor. We can provide counselling support by telephone, virtually or face-to-face (subject to location).
  • Telephone Bereavement Support: Our free service offers you up to six weekly sessions with one of our volunteers over the phone. You'll always talk to the same person, and each session lasts up to 45 minutes. We're not a counselling service, but we'll match you with a specially trained volunteer who'll provide a safe space where you can talk openly about your loss and how you're feeling.
  • Group support: You may find meeting other bereaved people in a support group setting helps you cope with your feelings. We're working to set up bereavement groups in communities across Wales, so that you can connect with others who've experienced the death of someone close to them.

To access these bereavement services, call us free on 0800 090 2309* or book a call below.

*Calls are confidential. This service is available for adults aged 18 or above.

Anticipatory grief is when you have feelings of grief while the person is still alive. Scott talks about experiencing this before his gran died.
