Brand new Marie Curie shop opens its doors in Glasgow

Press release published

Marie Curie Cancer Care has opened a brand new shop this morning in Maryhill Shopping Centre in Glasgow. Marie Curie staff were on hand to welcome customers into the store as the shop opened its doors at 11am.

The new Marie Curie shop will raise funds to support the Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow which provides expert care and a better quality of life, totally free, for patients with terminal cancer and other illnesses.

Head of Shops at Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alec Barclay said: “We are delighted to be trading once again in Maryhill and I am extremely thankful to all our hard working staff and volunteers who have rallied round to get the new shop up and running. I would urge local people to pop by our fantastic new shop, meet the team and have a look through some of our high quality items. Every purchase or item donated to the shop will help fund the Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow.”

Staff and volunteers will gratefully receive any unwanted clothing, books and bric-a-brac – and don’t forget to ask about Gift Aid. If you are interested in volunteering at the shop, please call shop manager Linda Young on 0141 945 5399.

The address of the new Marie Curie Cancer Care shop is Unit 7, Maryhill Shopping Centre, Glasgow G20 9SH.
