End of life care session at Britain Against Cancer 2010

Marie Curie will host a session to give you a chance to discuss end of life care, death and dying in our communities on December 14 at Church House, Westminster. The session is one of six break-out sessions during the day’s conference, Britain Against Cancer 2010, 'A new cancer strategy, a new NHS - making it work'. A Marie Curie Nurse, politician, academic and family member will give brief talks summarising progress so far and the future of end of life care. Participants will then be invited to take part in a discussion and exercises, exploring how individual preferences can be met at the end of life within society and the resources available. This session is not about assisted suicide. Speakers in this session are:
The rest of the day will give you an opportunity to hear from the decision-makers driving these reforms, including the Rt. Hon. Andrew Lansley CBE MP, Secretary of State for Health, and debate how we can ensure the reforms meet the needs of cancer patients and their families.
