Marie Curie comment on 'Improving Outcomes: A Strategy for Cancer'

Comment published

Commenting on the publication of the Cancer Strategy today a spokesperson for Marie Curie said:

"We welcome the publication of the Cancer Strategy today and the commitment of £750 million to improve outcomes for cancer patients. We are also pleased that this Government appears to be taking end of life care seriously and look forward to the government implementing the findings of the Palliative Care Funding Review. But we know one in four cancer patients will require end of life care as the report acknowledges 28 per cent of all deaths are due to cancer and these people need the support – and they like anyone else will be awaiting the announcement of funding for palliative care services regardless of diagnosis."
