Marie Curie is here to support bereaved people in Wales this Christmas

Commenting after Public Health Wales figures showed Coronavirus deaths in Wales have now passed 3,000, Angharad Burden, Information and Support Bereavement Coordinator at Marie Curie, said:

“This year we have seen hundreds of people getting in touch with us, who are grieving in isolation or with fewer people around them than they would normally have.  They’ve told us that they wouldn’t normally feel the need to access support but being in lockdown, different tiers or social distancing means they have been unable to lean on their usual support networks for help.

“The pandemic has forced everyone to confront death in ways we never could’ve comprehended a year ago, but we’re here, on the other end of the phone, to support anyone who needs us.

“We know many people will be feeling their grief even more this Christmas, at a time when they might remember the traditions they once had with their loved one.  I urge anyone who is struggling with any aspect of dying, death or bereavement this festive season to ask for help.

“Marie Curie is here for you this Christmas.”
