Richard Meade, Head of Policy & Public Affairs Scotland said: “Marie Curie welcomes the Inquiry into Palliative Care report published today by the Scottish Parliament. We believe that everyone has the right to palliative care when they need it. “The report highlights many of the concerns we have regarding access to palliative care, the need for more palliative care training and education for all health and social care professionals, better data collection and the need for Integration Joint Boards to work with partners to deliver good local palliative care. Further detail on this is available at www.mariecurie.org.uk/change “We look forward to seeing the report’s recommendations incorporated into the Government’s plans Strategic Framework for Action on Palliative and End of Life Care when it is published later this year.” |
