Today the Scottish Government has published its commitment to make sure everyone in Scotland gets good quality palliative and end of life care. The Strategic framework for Action for palliative and end of life care’s vision is that by the end of the next Scottish parliament in 2021, everyone in Scotland who needs palliative care will have access to it.

Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport, Shona Robison MSP launched the new framework during a visit to the Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh.

Richard Meade Marie Curie Head of Policy & Public Affairs Scotland said:  “Marie Curie welcomes the publication of the Strategic Framework for Action on Palliative and End of Life Care and its commitment to ensure that everyone in Scotland has access to palliative care when they need it. We now look forward to working with the Scottish Government, NHS Boards, Local Authorities and other partners to deliver on this ambition.”
