Press release published

The Masterpiece Marie Curie Party, hosted by ambassador Heather Kerzner, raised over £900,000 for the charity.

The Masterpiece Marie Curie Party took place at the Masterpiece London annual art fair on the 30 June at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and was supported by luxury clock and watch manufacturer Jaeger Le-Coultre.

The Masterpiece Party was attended by royalty and celebrities alike, including Princess Beatrice, Rachel Hunter, Monica Lewinsky and Yasmin LeBon with her daughter Amber.

Marie Curie Nurses and volunteers were also in attendance, encouraging guests to bid and donate. Funds were raised through ticketing, a silent auction, a live auction, raffle ticket sales and pledges from guests. Entertainment was provided by Gideon Reeling Theatre Company and Robin Harris’ London Dixie Jazz Bands.

Marie Curie Head of Major Gifts and Special Events, Lucy Sargent, said:

“We want to thank everyone who attended and donated so generously, raising £900,000. We want to give special thanks to our host and Marie Curie Ambassador, Heather Kerzner, for once again making the event a huge success, and to Jaeger Le-Coultre and Masterpiece London for their fantastic support. The money raised will help to fund just fewer than 50 Marie Curie Nurses for a year, who provide free care for terminally ill people in their own home.”

This is Marie Curie’s second year as beneficiary of Masterpiece London.
