Premium 'slow fashion' charity store opens in Alderley Edge
Press release published
A charity shop in Alderley Edge has unveiled a sleek new look today [Thursday 26 March], with a 'slow fashion' store opening in its place, in support of the UK's leading end of life charity Marie Curie.

The new store, called edition, has been designed to appeal to people who want to shop sustainably whilst enjoying the benefits of a high-end boutique.
Situated on the London Road, the store will stock nearly-new clothing, footwear and accessories from a range of designer and premium high street brands.
Profits raised from sales will help Marie Curie Nurses and Healthcare Assistants to deliver expert palliative and end of life care and support to people whatever the illness and wherever they live.
The store opening follows findings from a recent new study released by Marie Curie which shows the growing scale of the end of life care crisis. Across the UK, almost one in three people at end of life never receive the care they need.1 The charity wants to change this.
Graham Hall, Retail District Manager for Marie Curie, North of England, said: "After months of planning, we're delighted to open our newest slow fashion store in Alderley Edge today, following the success of our first concept boutique in Chapel Allerton, Leeds.
"Our team have curated the best quality donations that we receive from fashion fans and collectors across the country, including many designer labels, for sale here in the edition store.
"We're really looking forward to welcoming our regular customers back through the doors to see what they think of what's on offer and we hope to meet lots of new customers too, some of whom may not have shopped in a store like this before.
We're also looking for a number of friendly volunteers who can help us deliver a great shopping experience and would encourage anyone with an interest in fashion to get in touch or call in for a chat."
Customers can take advantage of a 10% discount offer on sales at the Alderley Edge edition store from Thursday 26 – Sunday 29 March.
Marie Curie cares for people with any illness they are likely to die from including Alzheimer's (and other forms of dementia), heart, liver, kidney and lung disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson's, and advanced cancer.
The charity provides expert end of life care and support to people at home, at its hospices and via its free national Support Line (0800 090 2309) which is available to anyone living with a terminal illness and those close to them. The line offers practical and emotional support on everything from symptom management and day-to-day care to financial information and bereavement support.
