Mark Jackson, Marie Curie Policy and Public Affairs Manager, said:
"Today's measures are a critical intervention which will bring some relief to many people living with terminal illness and their families.
"It will be crucial to ensure that all people living with terminal illness and struggling with costs of living receive all the help available including the disability cost of living payment, and are always able to access the Household Support Fund when needed.
"However, terminally ill people and their families have been facing a cost of living crisis for far longer than the last few months, with around 90,000 people dying each year whilst living in poverty. The Government needs to introduce sustained, targeted financial support to ensure that in future no one has to face struggling to make ends meet at the end of life."
