In response to today’s report from NHS England, Investment and Evolution: A five-year framework for GP contract reform to implement the NHS Long Term Plan, Simon Jones, Director of Policy and Public Affairs, at Marie Curie said:
“More and more people are needing end of life care and support, delivered by primary care. The prioritisation of end of life care in the GP contract framework published today is very welcome indeed.
“Over the last 5 years, Marie Curie has been working in partnership with the Royal College of GPs, and we will continue to work with General Practice to develop high quality care and support in primary care for people at the end of their lives.
“We are pleased to see that the Framework recognises the importance of this work.”
