Taking Scotland Forward

In response to Scottish Government's debate on Taking Scotland Forward β Delivering a Healthier Scotland, on Tuesday 7 June 2016 Richard Meade, Head of Policy and Public Affairs, Scotland said:
βIt is great to see the Scottish Government lead a health debate so soon in the new Parliament. We know that around 11,000 people miss out on the palliative care they need every year. Last year the Scottish Government committed to ensuring that everyone who needs palliative care will have access to it by 2021. This is a very welcome and ambitious aim, which we support. In order for this to be achieved the issue of palliative care must remain a high priority for the Scottish Government and Parliament over the next five years. Only when everyone living with a terminal illness gets the palliative care they need can we deliver a healthier Scotland.β
