When is the Great North Run?
The 2024 Great North Run takes place on Sunday 8 September.
10.25am - Elite Wheelchair race start
10.30am - Elite Women start
10.32am - Visually Impaired start
10.40am - Mass warm up
10.55am - Elite Men and Masses start
Please make yourself aware of the new start line layout on the start map. When you receive your runner number, make sure you check which colour wave you've been assigned as this will determine your arrival time, arrival route and assembly time. Follow the signs to your designated assembly area using the colour on your run number. You need to make sure you're in your assembly area by the time stated for your colour wave in the organiser's Event Guide.
The masses start at 10.55am in central Newcastle and for full details about where to go, start times and route details please see the Event Guide.
For information points on Sunday and baggage locations, please see the Event Guide.
What if I become injured or need to cancel my place?
Not a problem! If you have a ballot or general entry place, you will need to contact the event organisers and let us know too. If you have a Marie Curie place, our supporter relations team can help you. Email them at runningclub@mariecurie.org.uk
