Marie Curie at the Pride parade – "The atmosphere was just electric
Last Saturday, a group of Marie Curie staff and volunteers joined the 30,000 people who took part the London Pride parade.
Talking about the day, our Case for Support Development Manager, Dr Anthea Martin, said; “I had quite a lump in my throat at how warmly people greeted us, so many people applauding and obviously knowing what we do. But what also struck me was the sheer diversity of the people there – not just in terms of gender or sexuality, but all ages, races, religions, nationalities”.
“It was an honour to be part of such a moving and important day”, said Senior Innovations Manager, Lily Somerville. “The atmosphere was just electric, and it was so moving to be received so well and by so many people. I am so proud to be part of Marie Curie and I can’t wait to be part of the day again next year.”
Thank you to everyone who came to support Marie Curie at this year’s Pride parade. Here are a few photos from the day.
